English Walnut Coffee Table — Shropshire Grown,
£345.00
A stunning centrepiece that brings together history, nature, and craftsmanship — this is a table to admire and cherish.
Sourced from English Walnut grown in Shropshire, this timber is 110 years old and has been carefully air-dried for 8 years. That patient, unrushed drying process ensures exceptional stability, deep, enduring colour, and a finish that will hold its beauty for generations to come.
The tabletop is a striking cross-section of the tree — a rich, dark, heartwood centre surrounded by a warm, honey-toned lighter outer ring. The natural grain and growth rings radiate outward, creating a captivating focal point that changes with every light.
Where the timber has naturally opened, I’ve embraced its character rather than hidden it. The organic cracks are secured with hand-cut bow ties in contrasting timbers — beautifully crafted details that become part of the design — and finished with black resin to seal and strengthen, turning nature’s movement into a feature of the piece.
Protected with premium hard wax oil, the surface is safeguarded from daily use while keeping the natural, silky feel of the walnut — no heavy coating, just the wood’s own beauty enhanced and preserved.
Sleek black hairpin legs complete the design, offering a clean, modern contrast to the warm, organic character of the walnut top. It sits perfectly in both traditional and contemporary spaces — a piece that honours the past while feeling entirely at home in the present.
No two walnut rounds are ever the same — this table’s colouring, grain, and hand-inlaid details are entirely one of a kind. A piece of Shropshire history, handcrafted to be part of your home.
