Sycamore is one of the top woods for kitchen boards (along with Chestnut, Maple) due to its closed fine grain, which makes it durable, gentle on knives and easy to clean.

This piece is 100 years old and has been air dried for 8 years, very pale in colour with the knot being filled with clear resin and citrine crystals and the two small cracks with black resin.
