A Welsh Oak outdoor table top. This commission was to create a table top for an old sewing machine. The top was finished with Osmo exterior oil which will protect it for years.
The reverse of table top shows the bow ties used to ensure the natural crack does not extend. The bow ties lock the wood in place adding a structural as well as visual element.
Originally the clients wanted this for outdoor use, hence the exterior oil, however on receiving the finished item they have decided it is going to live inside.
